Frequently Asked Questions

  • We offer a wide range of service and upgrade options for mountain bike suspension forks and shocks. We can handle basic maintenance such as air can and lower fork services and full rebuilds with nitrogen fills.

  • No. We focus solely on shock and fork maintenance, but you can use one of our Partners to have them remove your component and we’ll take it from there!

  • There are several options: Call us to schedule your work, email us at thunderbearrides@gmail.com , or complete the contact form under our services tab!

  • Usually a quick google search on your bikes make, model, and model year can yield results, but if that doesn’t work, email, text, or call us and we will help you out!

  • After we confirm we have the correct size shock/fork for your bike, you will complete the form to schedule service on the Service tab, and we will email you an invoice for the loaner shock/fork. Once the invoice is paid we will ship you the loaner shock/fork, when it arrives you can swap out the components, and then send us your component for service/repair. After service/repair of your component you will receive an invoice for that work, and once that is paid, we will send you your component along with a return shipping label so that you can send back the loaner!

  • First, we aim to get your component back to you within 5 business days of receipt!

    Third, we pledge to donate $1 from every service to our local trail stewards M.O.R.E. who take care of the trails in the Mid-Atlantic region.

  • YES! On our Services page you can fill out the information form and then click on the BikeFlights tab and that will take you to our Bikeflights page. Once there simply complete the form, print the label, and ship your part!

  • We currently service Fox, Rockshox, Marzocchi, and Ohlins. Other brands are a case by case basis depending on parts availability. If you have a question, call or email us!

  • We do not do custom tunes, but we can install a different factory tune of your choice, and we can do upgrades like updating the Rockshox Charger 3 to a 3.1.

    If you are looking for a custom tune, reach out and we can recommend a business for that.

  • No, we do not, but we do offer a limited selection of loaner shocks and forks to help keep you going while we service your part. Email us at thunderbearrides.com with your needs to see if we can get you that loaner!

  • We use Square and you will receive an invoice after your repair is complete.

  • Shipping cost will depend on your component and where you are shipping from. We include return shipping within the cost of the repair.

  • The Customer is responsible for installing their suspension.  We encourage you to utilize a professionally trained bicycle mechanic/shop to install your suspension.

    Shocks may need to have their eyelets, air cans, autosag valves, and hardware adjusted prior to installation.  It is your responsibility to adjust those parts so the shock fits your bike properly.

  • We offer a 30 day warranty on services and repairs as per our Terms and Policies.
